The September issues may still be fresh on your coffee table, but the October issues are starting to surface on our forums already. U.K. Vogue released its October 2014 cover earlier today, and to our amazement, it features Rosamund Pike. The Gone Girl actress was shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Kate Phelan. Surprisingly, this is the first Vogue cover for the 35-year-old mother-to-be.
Our forum members are more than satisfied to see Rosamund score a Vogue cover. “Yes! Very surprising choice but I’m crazy about Rosamund. She’s so underrated and really deserves this. Quite like everything here. Will certainly be getting this,” wrote Benn98.
“Finally, she is on the cover of Vogue… very well deserved. If you’d like to know my humble opinion, I think she should have had a couple more by now,” agreed KissMiss.
“Her expression is a bit off but I’m just so excited to see her on the cover of Vogue,” pixiedust1603 said, shifting discussion toward the actual cover.
TaylorBinque thinks Vogue should have stepped up its game: “Very happy for Rosamund Pike but this cover is so boring. Can they do something more exciting?”
“It’s such a random and ‘non-covery’ image for a cover. And not in a good way either. It looks more like an outtake than a UK Vogue cover shot,” ranted MyNameIs.
GlamorousBoy doesn’t think the cover is season-appropriate and wrote, “This is better than the September cover but I don’t get the styling, it is not autumn at all — I mean bare shoulders? Seriously?”
The issue comes with the Miss Vogue supplement, featuring a trio of models on the cover, including Malaika Firth, Hollie-May Saker and Matilda Lowther. Of course, the cover can be viewed inside the thread. Don’t forget to check it out and share your own opinion with us here.
