Miuccia Prada continues to prove she’s in fine form as she casts rising star Jack O’Connell to front Prada’s menswear campaign for Spring 2015. The British actor arrived on radars after being cast as the lead role in the Angelina Jolie directed movie Unbroken where he plays Louis Zamperini, an American prisoner of war survivor. After the release of the movie and a cover of Man About Town, Jack was photographed by Craig McDean for the Prada ads. Shot in black and white, the actor sits back in a chair as he plays with a geometric item looking like his usual self.
Are our forums impressed? “YES!!! I LOVE HIM! I’m very happy for him! For me, he is either a Tom Ford and a Prada kinda guy! Go boy!” exclaimed an elated Lola701, who’s clearly a fan of the pairing.
“This is absolutely incredible. What a perfect choice, what a perfect image, yes applause!” posted TeeVanity.
“Yes. This is perfect. He looks great and the photos are great,” raved mistress_f.
“I had a feeling that he’d get the campaign. I honestly think he can photograph better than that and though it is miles away from my vision of the collection I think it works really well. Love the cinematic feeling,” credited Wolkfolk.
On the other hand, HeatherAnne wasn’t ecstatic. “We get it fashion world, you got suckered right into him, but he’s way too overexposed right now, and kind of a douche,” she commented inside the thread.
For the sake of variety, Jack doesn’t star in the campaign alone. Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort and Ethan Hawke were each shot by McDean in both London and New York for the ads. Check the full campaign out inside the thread here.
