It was only a matter of time before Karl Lagerfeld bestowed an advertising campaign on supermodel progeny Kaia Gerber, whether for his namesake label, Fendi or Chanel (not to mention collaborating on an upcoming capsule collection, Karl Lagerfeld x Kaia). She opened Chanel’s Spring 2018 ready-to-wear show in Paris last season, made her couture debut in July and ventured to Hamburg to walk the Pre-Fall 2018 show, so we aren’t at all surprised to see the 16-year-old rising star front Chanel’s latest handbag campaign for Spring 2018. Photographed by Karl and styled by Carine Roitfeld, Kaia was photographed at Coco Chanel’s Rue Cambon apartment in Paris and we can’t think of a more quintessential representation of the brand.
Our forum members were here for Chanel’s latest signing. “I like it! It’s very elegant and young. I like how she looks very chic and fashionable without looking like a walking billboard for a brand,” said GivenchyHomme the moment the campaign struck.
“Beautiful campaign! Obsessed with her legs!” exclaimed fashionlover2001.

“This is actually gorgeous. Again, she doesn’t look like she is playing dress-up; she sells the ‘rich girl raised in Chanel’ look to me,” added dodencebt.
“Wow, sold. Obsessed with the first photo (above),” approved Conbothsides.
In agreement over how wonderful the images and partnership turned out was zoom. “This really works well on a number of levels. It manages to feel young and luxe at the same time, Kaia is perfect here. The best photos I’ve seen from Karl in a minute,” he voiced.
“Was wondering where Kaia would show up for one of Karl’s campaigns and this is pretty good!” admitted mathiaskatz.
“It’s very nice. I think all Chanel ads should be black & white,” forum member gazebo expressed.
Bluebanter felt the same way, writing, “I love every short here. Very beautiful!”
“I like Kaia, the set and that they’re not closeup shots,” kokobombon appreciated.
