Emma Stone has been a rare sight at the newsstand this year, but that’s all about to change with the unveiling of ELLE‘s September cover. The magazine has given us strong covers in recent months, featuring the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande. This month, Stone was photographed by Ben Hassett and styled by Samira Nasr in Louis Vuitton (obvs).
Unfortunately, both the cover and Emma’s presence fell flat with our forum members. “Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton. Groundbreaking,” snarked GivenchyHomme.
“Such a shame that this deal means she’s only shot in Louis Vuitton,” added mikel.
“It’s a warm and inviting cover but her hands and hair are obscuring so much of her face, dodencebt pointed out.

Ken Doll Jenner wasn’t exactly thrilled with the cover, either. “All that waiting for this? Never mind the fashion element, her face is hidden by the excessive hands and bangs. They should’ve gone with the first image of the editorial (below). That looks more inviting even though image-wise, is still not that striking for a September cover,” he said.
“Nice cover, but I have zero interest in Emma. Or any other Hollywood celeb,” Srdjan complained.
“A bit disappointed because Nina has been serving out great fashion for ELLE. My biggest concern with all the LV ambassador shoots is that everything is so dull and adds nothing new to the conversation,” echoed TaylorBinque.
Miss Dalloway added, “No wonder print is dying when something this insipid passes for a September cover, sigh!”
“It’s especially sad when you consider Nina [Garcia] has been producing some nice covers and yet she goes with this for September?” asked A.D.C in response.
