Vittoria Ceretti Was Shot by Three Different Photographers for Vogue Italia’s September Issue

Three or four years ago, our forum members could hardly contain themselves over the release of Vogue Italia’s September issue. Cut to today and it’s just like any other month. After recent disappointments like Madonna‘s seen-it-all-before covers last month and a child-like Kaia Gerber the month before, we no longer expect greatness from the Italian fashion bible. Nevertheless, Vogue Italia’s September offering for 2018 is here, with the title going all out in an attempt to regain momentum via Italy’s most relevant model: Vittoria Ceretti. The fierce beauty and forum favorite was photographed by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and Willy Vandeperre for a selection of three covers for us to choose from at the newsstand.

Members of our forums were left with mixed feelings toward each of the covers. “Are they serious about the font on the cover? The same as last September? How original. I am so tired of what Vogue Italia is offering these days. Losing my hope month by month,” snapped Starry.

“She looks tired,” said an underwhelmed Ed.

“Lol, M&M trying their hand at surrealism? Happy for Vittoria but that doesn’t look anything like her at all,” pointed out Benn98. “I&V, Willy Vanderperre, M&M… what a charming lineup for September! Three of the most overrated photographers in fashion right now!”

Ghostwriter10549 wasn’t thrilled with the first cover (above) either, writing, “This dress on her is probably one of worst of the season.”

“Are they trying to imitate the Snapchat/Instagram stories with that ‘Paradiso’ font and placement? Everything looks so indie and I just can’t find the energy to care about Vogue Italia anymore,” said kokobombon.

Sharing the same view was forum member MON: “This magazine is now just a mockery of what it was once.”

“If that’s paradise, I’d rather be in hell,” laughed Conbothsides.

“This seals the deal for me… (fashion) magazines are totally dead. No wonder no one’s buying them anymore. This is just a big mass of nothing; no tangible concepts, uninteresting and unrealistic styling and tired contributors. Boring as hell!” Fiercification ranted.
