People, Ksubi is back. The rebellious label has returned to the Australian market after a brief receivership hiatus, with a Summer 14 range aptly called Out of the Darkness.
The resurgence sees Ksubi cut back to its roots with a denim-heavy range for its loyal customers, and also marks the first collaboration between Ksubi LA and General Pants Co. Sydney. The partnership has leveraged the label’s DNA via fresh innovation, to reinvent iconic styles with new fits and washes.
Photographer Georges Antoni captured the essence of Ksubi and its cult following with raw images and fresh, hipster faces, with no shortage of beards, tattoos and long male locks. 20-year-old LA-based Aussie model Helena Vestergaard, the bae to 51-year-old Red Hot Chilli Peppers lead singer Anthony Keidis, is one of the leading faces.
General Pants Co.’s design director Pip Edwards styled and set the mood for the shoot, giving love to the brand long after her ex and baby-daddy, Ksubi co-founder Dan Single, left the label for good. “The new range from Ksubi is like a great gig; there’s enough from the back catalogue for the purist and plenty of new stuff for those wanting more,” Pip says in a news release.
Out of the Darkness will be available in-store and online from October 17, exclusively from General Pants Co. While you wait, feast your eyes on some campaign images below.
