Break the Internet, indeed.
There is little Kim Kardashian can do these days that can surprise us. We’ve seen her naughty bits dozens of times — in fact, it’s that curvaceous body that got her famous in the first place. So her latest magazine cover, though it is very provocative, isn’t at all shocking.
Paper tapped photographer Jean-Paul Goude to recreate his “Champagne Incident” photo, which was originally a photo of a nude woman emptying a bottle of champagne into a glass balanced on her ample booty. Of course, Kim was a great candidate to remake this photo since, well, she’s known for having a big butt.
Paper‘s theme for its winter issue is “Break the Internet,” and a simple picture of a clothed Kim certainly isn’t going to do that. So, the magazine took it to the next level, releasing an alternate cover that shows the reality star undressing with that famous butt naked, oiled up and on full display.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Kim’s assets and probably won’t be the last…but did this cover break the Internet? We’d like to think so. If this racy photo proves anything, it’s that 2014 has truly been a year of booty worship from mainstream America.
Paper says it will be releasing more images from the magazine feature on Thursday, and used expletives to describe them, so perhaps that means we can expect more nudity…and probably a million think pieces on Kim’s privilege that allows her to show her butt on the cover of a magazine, while Nicki Minaj got censored and vilified for flashing hers on the cover of an album. You guys know the drill.
So, prepare yourselves. This is going to be a long, Kim K-filled day.
Tell us what you think of the cover in the comments. Is it vulgar? Is it genius? And most importantly…did it break the Internet?
