Paris Couture Fashion Week is expected to soldier on, even in light of the terror attacks that have plagued the city in recent weeks. But it looks like we may be seeing fewer famous faces at this year’s event. According to Page Six, editors and starlets alike are planning to stay away from the fashion event with security and safety being top of their concerns.
“Security is going to be tough, and with tensions so high, I’d skip,” one anonymous person told Page Six.
Security and RSVPs are always a nightmare, but with terror threats, they’re an even bigger challenge. Add in that many couture clients are from the Middle East and are uncomfortable with being in Paris, and you’ll have smaller shows this season. Couture shows are, after all, for the customer. You know things are bad when you’re having a hard time getting people to fill seats during one of the most exclusive fashion events of the year.
At the very least, perhaps this means this time around, the week won’t become a Kimye circus.
