Kim Kardashian and her famous family members have monopolized quite a chunk of the fashion world in recent years, a fact that some folks aren’t particularly thrilled about. The reality star has appeared on the cover of Vogue‘s U.S. and now Australian publications, and will appear in a 30-plus page spread for LOVE magazine decked out in Prada. But Kim’s presence in the industry isn’t a bother to Olivier Rousteing, who cast her and husband Kanye West to front Balmain’s spring menswear campaign.
At 28, Rousteing is noted for being extremely social media savvy, hip and current. And while some may poo-poo his relationship with Kim, the designer thinks she’s all that. “She is insanely beautiful, smart, confident, a business woman,” he told The Guardian, noting that the reality star is actually Balmain’s ideal customer. “I love also that she is not a typical American. She has Armenian origins, she is with Kanye, who is black, and she has a mixed-race daughter. For me, that is how modern couples are.”
So, there you have it: The allure of Kim Kardashian, according to one young Frenchman.
