For the past few seasons, Givenchy has opted out of presenting a couture collection, officially announcing a break from the calendar at the end of 2012. But now, there’s hope that the French fashion house will make a comeback to the trade, thanks to a bit of tea Riccardo Tisci spilled to The New York Times this week.
Before heading to the after-party for Atelier Versace, the designer let it slip that Givenchy will be going back to presenting couture shows again — and then he “smiled and then walked away.”
Oh, Tisci, you sly dog. We’re glad that the designer will again be creating couture collections — after all, Kim Kardashian and Tisci’s flock of famous gal pals aren’t the only ones that should be able to rock threads from the Givenchy atelier. Non-famous, but still wildly wealthy women with a penchant for expensive clothes deserve a little love, too.
