Just call January the grim retail reaping. Kate Spade Saturday and Jack Spade are the latest brands going to slaughter with Kate Spade & Company announcing that it will be closing freestanding stores for both labels. But don’t worry — we won’t have to completely say goodbye to these brands. Kate Spade New York will absorb Kate Spade Saturday, while Jack Spade will shift its focus to e-commerce and building its presence in other stores.
So, if you were a fan of shopping IRL at either of these stores, you only have a few more months to cash in on that retail experience. Kate Spade & Company should have all the stores closed down by the middle of the year.
