ELLE magazine Gets Charitable for the Cotton On Foundation

ELLE Australia magazine has joined forces with Cotton On, creating a limited-edition necklace and bracelet with proceeds helping the Cotton On Foundation fund its projects in Southern Uganda.

The charitable collaboration came about when members from the ELLE team, including editor Justin Cullen, feature’s editor Vanessa Lawrence and lifestyle director Jana Johnson-O’Toole, joined the Cotton On Foundation on a trip to Mannya Villahe in Southern Uganda. The girls witnessed the work which has been done for the community, and learned about their plans for the future, and were so inspired that they created accessories to help fund its projects.

“We feel so lucky to have visited some of the areas where the Cotton On Foundation is making such a difference, and we couldn’t wait to come home, tell the stories of the people we met and the things we saw, and enlist our readers to help the cause,” Justine told the Cotton On Foundation. (more…)

Stylish Ladies Impressed the Eligible Men at the CLEO Bachelor of the Year 2014 Announcement Party

There’s no better event than the CLEO Bachelor of the Year 2014 announcement party for the ladies to pull out their sexiest threads. And they did just that, with reality TV personalities, actresses and media identities stepping out in figure-hugging, skin-baring, cleavage-showing dresses and ensembles to impress the country’s most eligible and single men. This is a hard one to try and get your head around, but The Bachelor‘s bachelorettes stepped out for CLEO‘s bachelors. Contestant Chantal Hryniewski went all-out sexy, donning a black long-sleeve T-shirt tucked into a leather skirt, plus T-bar heels and a chained choker. She looked a little red-eyed behind that chunky fringe — we hope no more bachies have been breaking her heart.

Zoe O’Brien was also looking fine alongside Chantal in a tight white midi dress from Tiger Mist, which showed off her ample cleavage and surprises of skin through crochet panels. (more…)

Fashion Bloggers, Episode 3 Recap: #FoodPorn, Semi-Nude Cover Shoots and Crowning Ceremonies

“Show Pony” was the title of the latest froth-worthy episode of Fashion Bloggers, which aired last night. Round three was all about horsin’ around in the bizarre alternate universe occupied by blog trotters Sara Donaldson, Margaret Zhang, Zanita Whittington, Kate Waterhouse and Amanda Shadforth. It was totes amazeballs, and we’re champing at the bit to relive another glorious 30 minutes with you.

Although there’s substantial evidence to suggest these girls are more than comfortable being the centre of attention, the ladies kicked off this week’s episode by trying to convince us that they aren’t fixated on the spotlight. (more…)

The 2014 CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge Names Winner

Who says nice guys finish last? Not in the CFDA. This afternoon, editors took a midday recess to Uber their way to The Modern, where the CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge luncheon was being held to honor seven well-deserving finalists, who were all being recognized as innovative leaders in sustainable design practices in the U.S.

In order to qualify for the Good Samaritan challenge, designers’ Fall 2015 collections had to contain at least 30 percent eco fabrics or materials. Judges also examined each brand’s eco-friendly production, dedication and ability to inspire consumers with its creativity. The selection committee this year included FIT’s Sass Brown, designer Maria Cornejo, Julie Gilhart, designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn of Rogan/Loomstate, jewelry designer Melissa Joy Manning, CFDA’s Lisa Smilor and Parsons’ Timo Rissanen.

Katie Deguzman and Michael Miller of Brooklyn-based jewelry brand K/LLER Collection took home the grand prize of $75,000, besting Amour Vert, Blair Lauren Brown, Brother Vellies and Laura Siegel; Reformation and Study NY nabbed the $5,000 runner-up trophies.

“Even being finalists was such a huge accomplishment for us…” said Deguzman and Miller, while accepting their award. “This is how we should be doing business. [Sustainability] really shouldn’t be a choice. It’s the way fashion should be.”

Previous winners of the CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge include Natalie Chanin of Alabama Chanin in 2013 and jewelry designers Melissa Joy Manning and Pamela Love in 2012.

Miley Cyrus Joining MAC as the Next Viva Glam Spokesperson



Today, MAC announced “Wrecking Ball” singer Miley Cyrus as the brand’s latest spokesperson for its Viva Glam campaign. The international star will be launching a hot pink lipstick called Amplified ($16) and a matching sparkling hot pink lip gloss ($15) at North American locations and online on January 22, 2015.

Every cent of the selling price of Viva Glam lipstick and lipglass will go toward helping women, men and children affected by and living with HIV/AIDS. Miley tweeted the news of the announcement to her 18.7 million followers this afternoon.
