This week was all about the lengths stars were willing to go to in an attempt to stand out on the red carpet. Quite a few celebs decided to shorten the runway versions of dresses into makeshift minis, but one actress dared to go floor-length with amazing results.

Victoria Beckham needs to send Kate Winslet a thank you note. The Oscar winner just resurrected the former Spice Girl-turned-designer's Fall 2009 collection with this long-sleeved black gown featuring structured shoulders at the Yo Dona Magazine International Awards in Madrid. The waist embellishment, Judith Leiber crystallized minaudière, and even Kate's ponytail combined to make the look practically flawless. Anna Paquin showed off her midriff once again at True Blood’s Season Four premiere in a modified Versus Fall 2011 dress with an embellished sheer midsection. The Brian Atwood Maniac pumps, Loree Rodkin bracelets, and Jimmy Choo Cloud clutch all play well off each other, but what really made this work was the transformation from knee-length on the runway to a fresh take as a mini.

Celebs opting to go nude is still a red carpet trend. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley donned this Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2011 backless crochet dress while promoting the latest Transformers flick over in Rio de Janeiro. Her accessories included cuff stilettos from the Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2011 collection and a beige Burberry bag. While Selena Gomez's beige Burberry Prorsum Spring 2011 frock had just enough edge for Toronto's MuchMusic Video Awards. Her purple platform Giuseppe Zanotti pumps and the oxidized chain hoop earrings by Melinda Maria proved great accompaniment, but a straighter hairstyle might have worked better here. Those curls compete a bit too much with the ruffles on the silk and chiffon dress.

Jaime King is set to play a southern belle on her new CW show, Hart of Dixie, but this actress looked California cool at the 2011 NIVEA Good-Bye Cellulite, Hello Bikini! challenge reveal in Bel Air. She dressed for summer in a yellow floral patterned Joie Ashanti dress, paired with Versace 4202 shades, Jimmy Choo Zen booties and a wild Cassie purse. A borderline neon tangerine Victoria Beckham Spring 2011 crew neck shift suited Olivia Palermo at the New York City screening of The Ledge. She further upped the neon ante with a bright pink satin Sondra Roberts Rose clutch, but then toned it down courtesy of animal print Charlotte Olympia heels.

Sure she appeared on last week's list, but Cameron Diaz deserves another spot this time thanks to the knit Chanel Spring 2011 mini she wore to the New York premiere of her film, Bad Teacher. Her Cartier jewels and Casadei pumps both earn high marks, even though she has been spotted in the same footwear throughout her recent publicity onslaught. Diane Kruger also made an appearance on last week’s rundown and this revealing red Yves Saint Laurent gown from the Edition Soir 2011 collection pretty much guaranteed her inclusion this week. The actress continued the Yves Saint Laurent theme when it came to her accessories for the amfAR Inspiration Gala in Paris, including black Tribute sandals.

So You Think You Can Dance's Cat Deeley attended the 2011 Critics’ Choice Television Awards in a lacy Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2011 white number, which is actually shorter than the runway version. She also had on brown Zara sandals. Yves Saint Laurent's black tuxedo jacket from seasons past effortlessly complemented Kate Moss's striped pants from Isabel Marant's Spring/Summer 2010 line during a recent shopping outing in London. She finished off the somewhat casual ensemble with Dolce & Gabbana shades, Repetto's suede ballet flats and a healthy dose of that signature attitude.
