Whether draped loosely to hang low past a tight miniskirt, or bound tightly around the neck paired with skinny jeans, the scarf shows no signs of going out of trend.
As my favorite season of springtime is settling in, I always face a dilemma with cleaning out my closet and the temperamental day-to-day weather transition of the Northeast. I never know which jackets to get rid of and which to keep. The evenings may require a lined coat, but the spring days are too hot for a real jacket and yet not warm enough to go without any sort of cover-up. And please don’t even mention the word pashmina! Yuck.
Everyone has been talking about Mary Kate Olsen’s leopard scarf she wore recently to an event and then again the next day for her round of Starbucks visits. The twins always seem to be seen in a new animal print version each year. Nicole Richie was rocking a black and red skull Balenciaga scarf on her recent night out with boyfriend Joel Madden and Sienna Miller was mistaken for Kate Moss’ double wearing a long beige scarf with short denim cut offs. Perhaps this trend remains seasonless in the celebrity world because scarves also double as fashionable shields from vulture paparazzi.
