Comfortable, flattering and seductive? Sign me up for  a pair.

Harem pants are hot for Spring 2009 and may be a new wardrobe favorite. Cut full and drapey at the hip, pegged  at the calf or ankle, the pants look best with a slim fitting top and flat sandals. Colors are kept authentic  with cerulean blues, subdued clays and sultry patterns. A few designers even show the style as jumpsuits for an extra sexy statement piece.

Dian Von Furstenberg  pleats a silk pant and rolls up the cuff for a boyfriend, trouser look.

Proenza Schouler is light in white with a sheer top and white pegged pants.

Nicole Miller shortens it up with an extra wide cut Bermuda length pant.

Doo Ri stays true to her signature style with a slinky knit jersey cut in a shimmer grey.

Tracy Reese contrasts her looks with a constructed bustier paired with loosely fitted  bottoms.

A little exotic, maybe even a little erotic, designers are bringing an ethnic vibe into American wardrobes next season. Some designers went a little eccentric with the silhouette by creating an exaggerated, billowing hip and a severely skintight cuff. For a more flattering look, keep to a  more subtle interpretation with a relaxed fit that will keep you cool on those hot summer days.
