Given its high annual growth, it’s little surprise that despite the economic downturn, M Missoni is expanding. The secondary line for the famed knitwear house Missoni was launched in 1953, and now they will be coming out with an array of new product offerings including new accessories this summer and a new denim collection for spring 2010.
Luca Vianello, the director of Valentino Fashion Group, M Missoni’s licensee, notes that the M Missoni brand has a strong identity, and that there are many opportunities to develop new collections like the denim that will be launching next year.
These new M Missoni offerings come in addition to an increase in the number of woven pieces that have been introduced over these past two seasons. The licensing agreement with the Valentino Fashion Group was renewed in January 2009 for another 10 years.
M Missoni is currently available at more than 1,000 points of sale and there are seven stand alone stores — five in the United States, one in Macau, and one in Hong Kong — along with 15 franchised boutiques (including ones in Dubai, Shanghai and Beijing).
