Over the years, Target has collaborated with many high-end guest designers including the coveted, yet poorly handled Missoni collection, and next month's Jason Wu for Target collection. Yesterday, however, Target unveiled the next chapter in its design partnership model: The Shops at Target. This will be an ongoing program where Target will partner directly with the shop owners of specialty stores and boutiques to co-create affordable, limited-edition collections.
The first flight of The Shops at Target, which debuts on May 6 at all Target stores and Target.com, features five exclusive collections across five different product categories. The five different U.S. specialty stores include The Candy Store, Cos Bar, Polka Dog Bakery, Privet House, and The Webster. Each of the collections reflects each shop owner’s unique perspective, offering Target’s customers the opportunity to experience each shop’s distinct aesthetic simply by shopping at their local Target store or online. Having prices ranging as low as $1 for a nail file to $159.99 for an online-only pouf for the home, there is definitely something in the selection for everyone. Among the five collections there are nearly 400 exclusive products to choose from. Here's a quick look at what to expect:
