It’s only day two of New York Fashion Week, but the amount of fur we’ve already seen on the runway has pretty much guaranteed that the industry’s current positive view on fur isn’t going anywhere (perhaps Stella McCartney had an inkling). Touches of fur, notably on outerwear, in the David Neville and Marcus Wainwright-designed Rag & Bone collection had some truly fantastic winter-ready pieces including cozy knits, fitted pant suits (in a copper metallic shade!), striped blanket coats, skinny trousers, and a parade of belted waists. Prints came in a variety of mostly geometric iterations and leather touches were bountiful, including on trenches and sweaters.
While not all the pieces were successful – like a head-to-toe floral look inspired by tapestry and kilt-like skirts – the overall collection offered much in the way of wintertime sartorial appeal.
