Consuelo Castiglioni underscored two things when describing her collection this season: "firmness" and "sparseness as elegance" — both of which made for one of the designer's most grown-up collections to date. This season, in fact, some of the best Marni pieces were minimal and monochromatic, relying on plays with volume for visual interest. The cuts, which stood away from the body, gave a lightness to the long sleeve tunics, shorts, pleated dresses, and A-line skirts.
It being Marni, however, there were still a number of fantastic prints including checks and florals and the color palette was a rich combination of dark green, aqua, pale grey, orange, red, purple, with black and white in between.
As for accessories this season, they included pointed open-toe slingbacks with a metal wedge and wooden platform flats, while bags came in boxy styles with padlocks, rectangular models in geometric weaves of leather and PVC, and oversized purses.
