Designer Elena Kiam, the powerhouse behind the fashionable yet affordable fashion jewelry line Lia Sophia, has a background in finance. It’s no surprise then that she has played a key role in the fast growth of the celebrity-favored line.
Following her graduation from Harvard College, where she concentrated in fine arts, Kiam joined J.P. Morgan’s corporate finance department. After her J.P. Morgan stint she went on to consult for an internet company and provided financial advisory services for several high net worth clients.
Now Elena is the Senior Vice President of Lia Sophia, a privately held party plan jewelry company where she designs jewelry influenced by old Hollywood glamour.
Elena resides in New York City with her husband, Tory, the CEO of Lia Sophia, and their three children.
Lia Sophia, which was named after Elena and Tory’s daughters (Lia and Sophia), has a new collection called The Cape Town Collection, inspired by South Africa’s raw natural beauty and exotic animals.
The inspiration has translated into snakeskin, zebra and wood grain textures, bohemian motifs, natural stones, glossy enamel, and brilliant cubic zirconias that have made for a number of statement pieces that the red carpet-staple jewelry line is known for.
