In Style UK just broke the news that Henry Holland (who is an active Twitter user for those who follow such things) will be coming out with his very own diffusion line called H! by Henry Holland. I’m usually not a fan of anyone using an exclamation point in the name of their line (except for Wolfgang Joop’s Joop! – he was a true pioneer), but Henry Holland can make it work. The English designer is so wonderfully witty – I’m still obsessed with his 80’s style “Do me in the park Marc”; “Give us a tickle Richard Nicole”; “I’ll tell you who’s boss, Kate Moss”, t-shirts. If his Spring/Summer 2010 collection is any indication, people will be clamoring for his new line.
The designer signed with high street department store Debenhams, who has previously collaborated with Julien Macdonald, Betty Jackson, Matthew Williamson, and FrostFrench, and the line is slated for an early 2010 launch in stores and a spring 2010 launch online. Prices have been set at between £5 and £60 and are aimed at 17 to 25 year olds, although I don’t doubt for a second that fashion lovers in every age bracket will be hitting up the line – especially after everyone from Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof, to Estelle attended his recent fashion show.
Holland previously collaborated with Levi Strauss & Co for a denim collection.
