Chances are you've had your hand in menswear dressing before. You've incorporated your boyfriend-fit pieces to create cool, edgy or preppy looks. You might've gone all Marlene Dietrich, adding a tie, suspenders or a pair of cufflinks into the mix. And while these are all tried and true ways to get a sexy, androgynous vibe into your wardrobe, we couldn't help but wonder, what can we do with an actual men's dress shirt (not just one labeled "boyfriend") that gives authenticity to our efforts and makes us feel oh-so-feminine? Can we create totally wearable looks using men's shirt styling to create an editorial finish?
We think we can. And we think we did. From a taffeta dirndl skirt paired with a swiss-dot button up to a tuxedo shirt worn with a serious statement neck piece, not one of these styles has us thinking "menswear." Instead, it's an undercurrent with major street style cred.
